Andrea and Woody's story starts in a way you might not expect — they first crossed paths in the fall of 2022 on an intramural flag football team. Woody still insists the league was "guys only" that season.
They stayed friends from afar until February 2024. When Woody won a three-point contest on campus, Andrea was tasked with delivering his prize — an NBA jersey of his choice. A mix-up resulted in an XL Lakers shirt instead of the medium Luka jersey he wanted. Through it all, a genuine friendship — and perhaps a little crush — was starting to grow.
After months of spending nearly every day together, May arrived and Andrea graduated, moving to San Antonio. They soon realized the distance couldn't keep them apart for long. Their first date took place just a few weeks later at Andrea's family reunion — yes, you read that correctly!
From that point on, the two were practically inseparable despite living four hours away. They made a point to see each other at least two weekends a month — no matter what it took.
On August 9, 2025, what Andrea believed to be an ordinary scavenger hunt with friends turned out to be the moment of a lifetime. Woody had planned every detail — and she said yes.
